Featuring more than 75 minutes of remastered music, LOVE SONGS includes two very special, previously unreleased live recordings, a version of "You Leave Me Now" featuring Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire on lead vocal and a take on EWF"s "After The Love Has Gone" sung by Chicago's Bill Champlin, who co-wrote the Grammy-winning track. Both songs were recorded during the pop giants' 2004 summer tour, during which both acts performed together at each show's end.

Augmented with liner notes by noted journalist A. Scott Galloway, LOVE SONGS spans the band's 38-year career, from their classic 1969 debut, CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY, to the aforementioned new live tracks. Remarkably, nearly every one of the album's 18 tracks cracked the top 40.

Born out of the Chicago bar scene of the late 60s, Chicago rose to a powerhouse group that regularly packed sold-out stadiums. The original lineup of Walt Parazaider (woodwinds), James Pankow (trombone), Robert Lamm (keyboards/vocals), Lee Loughnane (trumpet/flugelhorn), Terry Kath (lead guitar/vocals), Peter Cetera (bass/vocals), and Danny Seraphine (drums) created a new form of pop by blending big-band, jazz, blues and psychedelic styles.

With the future additions of Bill Champlin (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Jason Scheff (bass, vocals), Tris Imboden (drums) and Keith Howland (guitars, vocals), Chicago racked up massive album sales while becoming a staple of American radio thanks in large part to the songs composing LOVE SONGS.
